Salford Red Devils are delighted to confirm the signing of Carl Forster, a young prop forward from St Helens RLFC.

The 22-year-old began his playing career at Pilkington Recs ARLFC before having a glittering spell for the Saints academy, including a Grand Final appearance.

In 2011, he was promoted to the St Helens first team but a shoulder injury meant he couldn’t make his debut until that September.

Prop forward, Forster, played for Swinton Lions on dual registration in 2012 and also spent time at Rochdale Hornets in 2013.

This season he enjoyed a month’s spell at London Broncos before playing for Whitehaven RLFC in a linkup between the club and St Helens, helping Whitehaven avoid relegation.

Forster has also recently been nominated for the 2014 Kingstone Press Championship Young Player of the Year.

Iestyn Harris Head Coach said “Carl fits the bill perfectly for the Club, he is young and hungry for a shot at Super League, his form in the Championship this season has been superb and we can see exciting development potential in him moving forward”
