Warrington notched their third win in a row to inflict more pain on Salford.
The visiting Wolves raced to a 16-0 lead with tries from Chris Bridge, Micky Higham and Gene Ormsby.
Salford managed two tries from debutant Dom Manfredi, on loan from Wigan, and another from Greg Johnson, but Warrington were never in danger.
They added further scores in the second half from Joel Monaghan and Roy Asotasi but the damage was done before the break.
Salford handed a first appearance to Manfredi on the left wing with Jason Walton preferred in the starting line-up to former Warrington star Martin Gleeson.
Walton partnered Junior Sa’u who passed a late fitness test alongside Jake Mullaney. Skipper Adrian Morley started at prop against his old club who included former Reds Stefan Ratchford and Richie Myler.
The Reds, who conceded 166 points in three defeats by Warrington last season, were missing suspended Steve Rapira with Andrew Dixon recalled in the pack.
Warrington welcomed back winger Monaghan and loose forward Simon Grix from injury while hooker Higham returned after being rested for the win over London Broncos.
But the Wolves were missing Rhys Evans who scored four tries in last week’s romp at London.
Salford made a nightmare start with Tim Smith spilling the ball from the kick off to put Brian Noble’s side under early pressure, and then Mullaney threw the ball straight into touch with a wild pass intended for Johnson.
Ben Westwood thought he had scored when he stretched over the line from Gareth O’Brien’s pass but his effort was disallowed and then Monaghan had a touchdown ruled out after slick handling.
Salford had little possession but almost snatched the lead on their first raid when Walton was stopped from short range.
Then Warrington rattled Salford with three tries in seven minutes to storm into a 16-0 lead.
Salford’s defence failed to deal with O’Brien’s kick and Bridge went over in the corner midway through the first half.
Higham darted over to add to the Reds’ woes before O’Brien’s kick rebounded kindly off the post with the ball hacked sideways for Ormsby to cross in the corner.
Salford made far too many errors and brought on Gleeson for Walton to try to sharpen up the attack.
The Reds finally opened their account seven minutes before the break with smart handling by Smith and Mullaney allowing a clever flick by Sa’u to put Manfredi over in the corner.
Ormsby blew another chance for Warrington when he dropped a pass from Ryan Atkins but the Wolves were full value for their 16-4 interval lead.
Salford started brighter in the second half with Harrison Hansen almost going over from Tim Smith’s inside pass.
Warrington lost Bridge, with Matty Russell stepping into the action, and Myler was stopped short as the Wolves went back on attack.
There looked an element of obstruction about Warrington’s fourth try with Westwood and Myler combining for Monaghan to touch down for his fourth match in a row against Salford and stretch the advantage to 22-4.
Monaghan almost notched a second try with Warrington well in command and Salford desperately missing the injured Rangi Chase and Gareth Hock.
Manfredi took Smith’s well-judged pass neatly to grab his second try on the hour to cut the gap to 22-8.
Warrington immediately responded through Asotasi with Ratchford landing his fourth goal.
Jason Walton hobbled off for Salford 15 minutes from time but the Reds did manage a late effort from their best player, Johnson, after a Mullaney pass.
